Knight's Courtyard Ceremony & Knight's Castle Reception

"Erik & I met on a dating site on the internet. We talked for about a month before we finally met in person. For our first date I cooked him Manicotti, which for people who know me, was quite a big deal! We started hanging out more and more, and finally on Valentine’s Day of 2006, just 3 months after we had started dating, Erik proposed with a Build-A-Bear! I was shocked, but I knew just like he did that we were meant to spend the rest of our lives together! We looked at a lot of different places to have our wedding, and I happened to see the Castle in a Michigan Bride magazine and we decided to tour the castle to see if it could be as awesome in person as it looked in the advertisement.  We signed our contract with The Castle that day!  It was truly amazing and we knew it would be the perfect setting for the wedding of our dreams!”

“For our colors, we wanted to do something simple & elegant, but fun. We chose to have simple black bridesmaids dresses, and they carried bouquets of hot pink roses. The same roses decorated the tables in the reception hall, along with lots of other hot pink accents! We also decorated the courtyard with hot pink, blush and cream roses on the chairs as well as strewn down the aisle. It created an absolutely magical ceremony site!”

“After our ceremony, we wanted to have everybody enjoy the outside of the castle, so we had a champagne cocktail hour. It was FABULOUS! We had Grey Gables put a cherry in each champagne glass as a special touch since Charlevoix is in the heart of Northern Michigan. At the end of our cocktail hour we had all of our guests gather in the courtyard for a champagne toast, which made a great photo opportunity from the windows in the upstairs of the Castle!”

“ Our special day went flawlessly, thanks to the staff at Castle Farms!  We live in Grand Rapids, and they were so friendly and easy to work with via email, telephone and made time for us on our weekend wedding planning trips.  They were so accommodating with any special touches that we wanted to have and made our day truly amazing!  If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose to have our wedding at Castle Farms again!"
