“Keith and I met in Nashville, TN. He lived there while I visiting from Michigan. After bumping into him downtown a few times and seeing a little chemistry between us, I got his phone number but never had a chance to call him while in Nashville. Two weeks later, and back in Michigan, I was still thinking and talking about him so I decided to give him a call. It turned out that sometime in those 2 weeks Keith joined the United States Marine Corps and was leaving for Boot Camp in 8 days. We spent those 8 days talking on the phone and the next 3 months writing letters to get to know each other. After brief visits with each other during his training, we knew things were serious and I moved down south to be with him.”
“Our second Christmas together we were in Nashville walking through the Opry Land Hotel. Santa was there and Keith insisted we go tell Santa what we wanted for Christmas. I was hesitant but went along with the idea. While on Santa’s lap, he asked us both if we had been good this year. We both said "of course!” Santa then asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him “nothing really” while in the back of my head all I wanted was to get engaged to Keith. Santa then turned to Keith and asked him what he wanted for Christmas; it was then it happened. Keith got down on his knee and said there were some things he hoped to receive for Christmas but the thing he wanted most was for us to spend the rest of our lives together.”
