Queen’s Courtyard Ceremony &

Queen's Royal Tent Reception

Bart and Cheryl actually met on a blind date, set up through their mutual friend Lisa. Bart surprised Cheryl with a not-so-traditional first date: an “Old School”-themed party where he was the featured guest, Frank the Tank. Through the time they were dating, they continued to have fun together- dressing up as the SNL Spartan Cheerleaders for Halloween, heading to Key West for Fantasy Fest, and organizing New Years Eve parties and pub crawls for their friends. Bart proposed, to Cheryl’s surprise, while on vacation in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on a rooftop deck overlooking the ocean.

Cheryl has always vacationed in the Traverse City area, and her parents have a lake house on Torch Lake. Since Cheryl and Bart live in the Chicago area, they always have enjoyed the relaxation that comes with a trip to northern Michigan. They wanted a fun, low-key, yet beautiful atmosphere that matched their personalities, and found it at Castle Farms. Many family and friends from both Cheryl’s hometown of Saginaw and their home in Chicago made the trip to Charlevoix for the wedding.
Their family and friends are still talking about what a great time they had at their wedding. A photo booth was available where guests could take four snapshots and paste copies into a book for the bride and groom, then view all of the photos online after the wedding. Bart and Cheryl performed “The Perfect Cheer” from the Saturday Night Live cheerleaders in order to get their guests out on the dance floor, which remained packed the whole night.

“We are so happy that we chose Castle Farms for our wedding. The courtyard, tavern and tent provided such a perfect setting, and the staff allowed us to relax and enjoy our guests. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day!” –Bart & Cheryl
