Fiber Arts Festival
More than 50 vendors will be at Castle Farms displaying their wares during the Fiber Arts Festival July 27th & 28th, 2013. Live animals, such as bunnies, sheep and alpaca, and interactive demonstrations including fiber dyeing, and sheep dogs at work, provide hours of enjoyment, as well as being educational. The Fiber Arts Festival features handmade items such as hats, sweaters and lace shawls. The Fiber Arts Festival – a perfect way to celebrate nature’s bounty while enjoying the natural beauty of Castle Farms.
Admission is $5 per person
For an additional $4 you can tour the entire Castle grounds while enjoying the show.
Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Drop Spindle Class – 11am and 1pm
Hands on demonstration of the drop spindle taught by Lynda Jeltema. Limited to the first 8 people at both time slots.
Triangle Loom Weaving – Sat 10am-12pm & 1pm-4pm, Sun 11am-12pm & 1pm-3pm
Learn how to weave on a 5ft triangle loom. Demonstration provided by Doris of Glass Spinners.
Sheepherding Demo – 12pm
Many shepherds use border collies to move sheep from field to field around the farm. See working dogs in action and learn a little about their role on the farm.
