Knight's Courtyard Ceremony - Knight's Castle Reception

“Brad and I met while I was a student at Western Michigan University. I played on the women’s hockey team, and he happened to be the Head Coach! We were great friends for two years before we fell in love. In the spring of 2006, I took a trip to Florida and he picked me up at the airport in Detroit and as soon as I got down to the luggage claim and saw him, he got down on one knee and proposed in front of everyone! People around us started to clap and of course, I said yes!”

“For our wedding colors, we both wanted to create an atmosphere that was elegant and royal since we were getting married at the Castle, but we also wanted the traditional fall feel as well. We chose a color palette of browns, golds and tans with a bit of light pink throughout.”

“We added a few special touches to make our wedding stand out, including: a chocolate fountain for dipping desserts, an ice sculpture of a castle, dark brown sashes on the chairs with brown napkins, a translucent gold and tan overlay on the tables, and lighted weather balloons that hung from the rafters. The flowers I chose had a mix of color throughout them to bring more color to the wedding. The bridesmaids carried a bouquet of classic pink and cream roses.  My bouquet consisted of many pinks, yellows, oranges, reds and cream colored flowers and the tall and short center pieces in the reception hall mimicked my bouquet.”
“The Castle did an exceptional job throughout the whole process of planning a wedding! They made sure that everything ran smoothly during the ceremony and reception, making the day even more enjoyable for Brad and I. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! It was nice to know that we had a Wedding Coordinator on site to take care of the details on the big day! Maggie did a wonderful job, making sure that the bridal party was where they needed to be at the right time, and that our guests were happy. Anora also did a great job, helping Brad and I with all of the questions or concerns we had throughout the months leading up to the wedding. We can not thank the entire staff enough for helping us put on a wedding that we and our guests will never forget. The Castle is such a beautiful place for a wedding and I would highly recommend the site to future Brides!”
