"Ted and I both grew up in Boyne City, but it wasn't until after my freshman year of college that we started to hang out together. We got engaged on Christmas Eve of 2005, when Ted hide the engagement ring in my stocking. Planning the wedding was hard because I was living in Mount Pleasant going to school, and Ted was living in Charlevoix working at a church. When we started thinking seriously about where to get married we knew that it had to be in Northern Michigan. We both love living up here and there was never a thought of getting married anywhere else. One weekend we took our moms and went to visit Castle Farms to take a tour. When Ted and I saw the Queen's Courtyard we knew at that moment that it was the perfect place for our wedding. It was small enough to make it feel warm and personal, and the fountain was the perfect centerpiece for our ceremony. After talking to Anora about dates and times we noticed that on Memorial Day weekend the Queen's Courtyard was available and that it was paired with the King's Great Hall for the reception because of an antique show also going on that weekend, which was absolutely perfect. So the date was set for Sunday, May 27th, 2007."
