Knight's Courtyard Ceremony & King's Great Hall Reception

Aaron and Pam were introduced by a mutual friend in 2005 at a college basketball game while attending Oakland University. They were destined to meet. The previous year they had unknowingly lived one floor from each other in the dorms. The next year after meeting, they again lived one floor from each other in the student apartments. After countless days of running into each other, Aaron finally asked Pam out to dinner and they hit it off right away.

During a cruise together in March 2008, Aaron decided to pop the question. They visited the island Dominica in the Caribbean where they went site seeing. Aaron carried Pam’s engagement ring around in the pocket of his swim trunks all day without losing it. They took a 45 minute hike through the jungle to a huge waterfall, swam through caves in ice cold water and it wasn’t until they visited natural hot sulfur springs that Aaron decided it was the perfect spot.

He yelled for Pam to join him on a huge boulder, but Pam hesitated knowing that the cruise ship was about to make its departure. Once Pam reached Aaron she turned around to find him down on one knee where he asked her to marry him. In all the excitement, they almost missed the ship and the taxi driver had to run with them so they would make it back.

“We really wanted to find a place for our wedding that was unique, fun and memorable. After weekends of searching for a wedding location, we made our way up to Charlevoix. The second we walked into the King’s Great Hall, we knew we had to have our wedding there. Our ceremony was in the Knight’s Courtyard and even though it rained an hour before the ceremony, the sun came out just in time for the wedding. We couldn’t have picked a more gorgeous location. Our friends and family had a great time and we have many wonderful memories from the day. Castle Farms created a great atmosphere for our wedding and a perfect setting for pictures.”
