King's Indoor Chapel Ceremony & King's Great Hall Reception

"As a couple, Nichole and I had always dreamed of getting married in a castle. We both wanted something different and unique for our wedding; something that would personalize the day to truly represent us. The majesty and romance of a sweeping castle seemed like just the right touch for what we envisioned for our perfect wedding day. "

"Reality set in quickly though, and we realized the budget required to arrange a castle wedding in Ireland or Scotland was simply beyond our means. With our castle dream seeming hopeless, we started considering a tropical wedding in the Caribbean with just a few of our closest friends and family. Needless to say, our hearts were just not into the idea."

"Luckily, fortune smiled on us during a cold February day while Nichole was up north with friends for a ski weekend. She never made it to the slopes that day and instead happened upon the most improbable of discoveries on the outskirts of Charlevoix – a graceful and elegant castle – Castle Farms!"

"Flash forward to our wedding day in October, a year and a half after finding our dream castle right here in Michigan. Invitations had been sent to our guests on pink scrolls with gold lettering, the King’s Great Hall of Castle Farms was awash in the scent of Stargazer lilies and fuchsia roses, and I was an anxious groom watching the clouds thicken and cold winds sweeping through the Knight’s Courtyard where we were supposed to be getting married in an outdoor ceremony that afternoon."

"The fickle weather did its best to disrupt our day, and we had to hurriedly move our ceremony indoors to the chapel in the King’s Great Hall as the rain started pouring down fifteen minutes before our ceremony was supposed to start! The Castle Farms staff leapt into action even as our guests were arriving, and suddenly we had a hundred smiling guests being seated in the chapel where it was warm and dry. Emily and her team literally saved the day for us!"

"Seeing my gorgeous bride walk down the aisle brought tears to my eyes, and at that moment it no longer mattered whether we were getting married outside in a courtyard or inside the stone and timber chapel of the King’s Great Hall. We were getting married in a castle! Our dream wedding was happening!"

"Nichole and I can’t say enough good things about the venue, the staff, and the wonderful ambience of Castle Farms! Our wedding at Castle Farms was truly magical, and that amazing day at the castle really has been the beginning of our “Happily Ever After…”

July 28 - 29, 2012 - Fiber Arts Festival More than 50 vendors will be at Castle Farms displaying their wares during the Fiber Arts Festival July 28-29, 2012. Live animals, such as sheep and alpaca, and interactive demonstrations including sheep dogs at work and sheep-shearing presentations, provide hours of enjoyment, as well as being educational. The Fiber Fashion Show, featuring handmade items such as hats, sweaters and lace shawls, highlights the Festival and is great fun for all. The Fiber Arts Festival - a perfect way to celebrate nature’s bounty while enjoying the natural beauty of Castle Farms. This fascinating glimpse of antique bridal gowns and grooms’ attire kicks off the celebration of the Castle’s 8th Annual Grand Bridal Expo, Sunday, October 28th, 2012.
