Looking for ideas on how to celebrate your wedding and still make changes to better respect the environment? Well here are some answers! We have been seeing many new and creative eco-friendly ideas on the rise here at Castle Farms and we’re here to share them with you!
In the past, brides and grooms were greeted by guests after the ceremony with rice-throwing or streamers, but it always left something that was not exactly great for the environment to clean up. Well at our May 23rd wedding in the Knight’s Castle, the bride and groom wanted to keep the tradition of being the center of a confetti-toss, but wanted to do it in a way that would not be hurting the environment. Their solution: biodegradable confetti! Given to each guest before the ceremony were paper cones filled with teal and green confetti pieces that would later dissolve into the dirt, therefore not hurting the environment and eliminating the need for the tedious clean up of small confetti pieces!
Continuing on with these “eco-friendly” wedding ideas is something we saw twice this month – wildflower seed party favors! Cut into whatever shape you want and placed with any custom message you wish to give your guests are biodegradable paper cards holding wildflower seeds. Guests simply bury the paper in the dirt, keep it watered, and wildflowers will grow! Not only is this wedding favor good for the environment, but it will grow into a constant reminder for guests of your special day that they can put wherever they wish!
There are many other things you can do to make your wedding eco-friendly, too! Giving reusable bags as favors is another idea we’ve seen in the past, but the best part about being eco-friendly with your celebration is that your ideas can be as unique and creative as you wish!
