Ask the Coordinators- Guest Roaming

Jillian M. asks “Can my guests wander the grounds during my wedding?”

Brittany Maggrett | Michael Murphy IV PhotographyBrittany says:  “When you reserve a wedding at Castle Farms in May through October, your reception room includes a private outdoor space for the entire evening.  Guests are welcome to relax in this private courtyard/balcony or play lawn games provided by the couple. Additionally, they may visit the common gardens adjacent to your reception venue. Often, when the Castle Venue Coordinators or Assistants see wedding guests beginning to explore, we point them to the best Castle attraction closest to their venue. We don’t want them to miss any of your wedding festivities!

“For the East and West Garden Rooms, the adjoining King’s Courtyard is a great option. The Knight’s Castle has a huge attached outdoor space and historical office with lots of old photos to interest any history buff. Luckily the King’s Great Hall has two large balconies that offer views of almost the entire grounds. The Queen’s Tavern is adjacent to the Queen’s English Rose Garden- a real treat in summer.

“We do not allow guests to wander the entire grounds during weddings as there are areas reserved by other events; however, we do have a great full tour option available. Anytime up to two weeks before and two weeks after the wedding date, Castle wedding guests receive 50% off our Self-Guided Tour admission by presenting their wedding invitation. We see guests using this often; Charlevoix is a great Michigan destination, and many wedding guests travel to town a bit early or stay a few days after the wedding to enjoy the area. Guests can come get a sneak peak of the venue when they arrive into town, or they can come back after the wedding day to explore everything the Castle has to offer.”
